I'm back! Sort of!

Hi to those that know me from my SVX owning days before Iwent to the dark side and the Skyline! I have kept dropping in every now andagain to see what was going on. See the odd SVX every now and then - most recent about 6 weeks ago near Warwick - Claret colour, and it wasn't Phil as I saw him a couple of days later and had confirmation.

I've sort of come back to the fold with a GTB that I got a few weeks back. Lot of learning to do on where to get all the bits from.

Hope to muscle in on one of your events when I can - and if I'm frogiven for my transgression!

Hey Tony

Great to see you back, anytime!

What sort of a SVX is a GTB? Am I missing something here? Post up some pictures.

Joe

Re: I'm back! Sort of!

Hi Joe,

Great to hear from you.

Not quite as svelte as an SVX, but it does the job!

It's a JDM 2004, 2 litre twin scroll turbo, with tiptronic. I tried the 3 litre (trying to be 'true' to the SVX), which was as smooth as the SVX engine, but didn't have the get-up-and-go that the Skyline had.

Choice made!!

Re: I'm back! Sort of!

Hi Tony

I had two of those wagons a few years ago. I had a '97 and a '98 I think. They were both twin turbo. I ran the silver one for a long time, and it was an excellent car. It was 4EAT like the SVX, but much lower geared. It pulled like a good thing.

Your twin scroll should be a major improvement I would expect. The twin turbo concept was interesting and pretty good, but over complex.

The silver car was utterly reliable and entertaining to drive, although I would have liked better brakes. The only real failing it had was the propensity for not bettering 20 or 22 mpg, unless on a long run. You pay for your pleasures.

What hp is yours rated at, and what does it return in mpg running around?

Joe.
