3rd Gen RX-7 Rims + 245/45 Hoosier R-Comps

Now that I've moved up to running 275/45s on BillStock 4.0 (aka Battlestar), my RX-7/Hoosier 245/45 set up is for sale. The Hoosiers have ~75-80% wear left and the RX-7 rims are the 15#, stronger versions. The car definitely handled better going to the wider tires (I ran 225/50 Kumho VictoRacers before going to the 245/45 Hoosiers). This set up never rubbed anywhere in the wheel wells during over a year's worth of autocrossing. Note: while the tires are DOT legal, they really should only be used at autoX or track events.

$625 + shipping (or you can pick them up in scenic southern Maryland )

Picture at the 2005 Subaru Challenge:

-Bill

p.s. plenty of additional pictures in my locker of my car with the rims/tires on it

That is very tempting for me except now I'm thinking of racing one of the Justy's

Good luck with the sale Bill. I was given a set of lightly used RA-1s last night. But had I still needed track wheels...

Kerry,
Thanks. This is probably a much better deal for someone who can come pick them up or is on the East Coast so the shipping is low or non-existent.

Geez Bill, you are killing me... Anything I could "trade" you to knock down the price a little. I am strapped but this would definately be a good thing for me to get

the track day(s) sound great for next year - I like Harry's idea of going the MB route with a good number of SVXi on the same track! Might just ask Shawn to borrow the trailer again, though

Nope, just considering the 3+ hour drive and the "workout" it will get on the track...figured it would make sense to let it rest on the way out and back
-Bill
p.s. who knows, by next year it might be set up such that the "comfort" aspect of the car has given way to pure "function", thus maybe not the best car to be driving for 3 or more hours in a row
p.p.s. got the driver's seat rail adapters reworked today along with the passenger's side, so I should now be able to drive with my helmet on and head straight up, as well as get the race tires in the back seat

awesome. Glad to hear that is all said and done. I am searching for a shop to rent in Philly so I can continue working on SVXi even with my now hectic schedule. I will keep you updated as to when I can get to the pearly

Yeah, I also replaced the driver's side door latch mechanism with one Dave H. sent me...turned out the solenoid in mine was locked up in the unlocked position. Just have to get the connectors hooked back up and the door panel back on and let it stretch its leg a bit tomorrow before it's appointment with the dyno on Monday

Actually Tom, might want to check the rules out I think SM requires street tires (i.e. a 140 or 160 treadwear rating not a sub 100 rating). I think then you'd run in modified against carts. Bill would know better as he's up on the ricer rules.
