Re: Bontrager Works 22mm rear sway bar kit

The opportunity to grab one of these, given that you're interested in some shade of spirited driving, is quite a gift, all told. After all of the talk of making them over the years, your wish has been granted, and between the rules of physics and the consensus in testimonials of their owners, you're assured that this bar will give your car some new moves.

Low tech, easy install, clearly not vaporware, and a complete package. It's a no-brainer.

Re: Bontrager Works 22mm rear sway bar kit

Huck, I imagine I'll be doing another batch of bars in another month or six weeks. If you really want, I can make a black (or yellow, or any color) bar for you then. Or, if you can't wait, I have blue ones ready to go out.

And LetitSnow, thanks. hahaha You guys practically sell these things for me!

I can assure you that if someone else made one of these and I had the chance to buy one, it would be at the top of my list. I realize that's a bit one-sided coming from the guy that sells them, but it really makes the car handle much, much better.

Black is very generic and understated. If it gets painted yellow, make sure it isn't some sort of lame, washed out, lemony color...

It needs to be the intense in-your-face HUCK YELLOW!!

Huck, I'll let you know when I'm ready to make some more and you just let me know what you're thinking. We'll be in touch.

And Freeman, like I told you... You can't have one anyway. You made fun of probes.

Re: Bontrager Works 22mm rear sway bar kit

Damn. Maybe my distaste for probes comes from the fact that when I first got my SVX, my neighbor called it a Probe no matter how many times I corrected him.

Re: Bontrager Works 22mm rear sway bar kit

My best friend constantly tells me how it reminds him of his probe...
He misses his probe, it had its front end sat on by a land rover.

Re: Bontrager Works 22mm rear sway bar kit

Owning both cars, I can easily see why people think they're related. The SVX feels like the probe's older brother kind of. hahah

I actually test drove my SVX when I was first looking for cars and it was between it and the probe. I wanted the SVX, but it was a couple thousand more and I was a poor high schooler. It was gone at the dealer the next day anyway, so I got the probe instead. GREAT first car. It is now also my project car, I don't ever plan on getting rid of it. OR the SVX for that matter.

Re: Bontrager Works 22mm rear sway bar kit

My Swaybar made it though UPS shipping! It looks like they only tried to fold it in half twice.
But that pesky metal bar of yours foiled their plan!

Pics, because I like pics.

Quick question, on the how to install thread:
"4. Attach the top of the endlinks to the bar. Here's a shot of what it'll look like when you get it on there."
The link to the pic is broken, there is no picture. Do you have this pic or can fix the link?

Thanks again Nevin, I can't wait to get this installed.

Re: Bontrager Works 22mm rear sway bar kit

The picture in #4 is basically like the picture in #3. Just attached the endlink to the bar. There is a close-up in #5 also. Just instead of their being the hub, that's where the swaybar itself is.

But thank you for pointing out that I have a dead picture. I'll get it fixed as soon as I can.

And everyone, I still have 3 bars left!

Bill, I'm still holding the blemished one for you.

Re: Bontrager Works 22mm rear sway bar kit

Thanks for the explanation Nevin.
So the order will be the same as on the hub, got it.

He has 3 left, BUY THEM!

How many bars have been made in total?
