Re: Save this SVX!! (NorCal)

Well, the ball is rolling, we'll see where it rolls. PM Sent.

It is a good thing my brother-in-law is a paint and body tech... he should be able to fix up that clear coat issue, and I'll have to look into upholstery repair.

But that may end up being down the line... It will probably need all-season snow-capable rubber before November. It looks like she's wearing summer rubber now. The same rubber that the Miata is wearing, Toyo T1-R or T1-S.

Hopefully new rubber for this will mean that I won't have to buy a new set of snow tires for the Miata, and can button it down for winter slumber, instead, and the two Subies will do winter duty.

Re: Save this SVX!! (NorCal)

Car is here, delivered just fine, thanks very much to Roo. He should be back in Cali by now, if his flight went well.

The car is in much better shape than the crusher would deserve.

Runs and drives very well. The only serious problems are paint defects, and sun damaged upholstery, that has shrunk and pulled apart at some of of the seams. Both apparent effects of too much sun exposure, rather than rough treatment, with it really hasn't had, that I can tell.

Hopefully, over the course of some time, I can give it the cosmetic restoration it deserves, and keep it on the road a good long time.

Thanks again to Roo and Pleiad7 for working so hard on their end to make this deal go off without a hitch, and on such short notice, over such long distance.

Re: Save this SVX!! (NorCal)

Cool, I'm glad it went to a good new home! Roo is getting some well-deserved sleep right now, but he had a good time on his I-80 "Midnight Run".

Thanks!

Here's one of the most impressive shots I took (IMHO), and it was taken with my iPhone in Chappell, Nebraska.

I had reset the odometer at my previous fuel stop in Wyoming.
Fuel Sale: 13.745 gal. - I could have probably taken it another 50 miles or so.

Total cost of fuel from Sebastopol, CA to Omaha, NE - $204.47
