Re: Where/who to buy head gasket set from??
Hello from Finland :-)
You will probably need a full factory gasket set, right? I've used Mastria Subaru with great success. Jim is very helpful and shipping has never been a problem. jlecesse@mastria.com As many others, I replaced the OEM head gaskets with Cometic MLS ones. You can get these from Dayle motorsport_svx@yahoo.com for example - I bought mine from Flatirons Tuning in Colorado because I ordered other stuff from them at the same time - they had a set of ARP2000 head studs custom made for me. Kind regards, Tapani PS Does anyone know what happened to Jackie W at Annapolis Subaru? She hasn't replied to my enquiries since March... Last edited by Tapani; 12-27-2014 at 11:04 PM. |

Re: Where/who to buy head gasket set from??
These are dimensionally equivalent to the stock gaskets:
Cometic Head Gasket for Subaru SVX EG33 98mm .066 Inch MLS-5 C4340-066 As you have noticed, you can get these to match your (over size) bore size and in a selection of thicknesses to match your preferred CR target. /T Last edited by Tapani; 12-28-2014 at 12:18 AM. |

Re: Where/who to buy head gasket set from??
While you have the engine out be sure to replace the rear main oil seal and reseal the "kidney plate".
Also, if the cam cover gaskets are not included in the set you bought make sure you get them too. Further, replace all vacuum hoses + PCV-valve while you have the intake manifold off . And inspect the flex plate for any signs of cracks. There is a thicker one available for around 30 USD. /T |

Re: Where/who to buy head gasket set from??
If you are changing to a mls gasket I would recommend changing to studs at the same time. Mls gaskets require different torque specs and procedures.
