Re: Leatherique

I finally got around to starting on this today. I applied the first step, covered them with plastic wrap, and put a space heater on them. I'll start the next step tomorrow or the next day.

Re: Leatherique

OK. Here are the results. The leather looks remarkably better. It removed all of the surface dirt and "shine" and also repaired some light wrinkling from use. I'm extremely satisfied with the product! I apologize for the quality of the pic. I left my dslr at my office, so had to take the pic with my phone.

Re: Leatherique

Your seats look brand new! Well to the extend of quality camera

Three years ago, i bought a complete set of UK spec SVX leather skins along with the headrests at a steal shipped to me. They were in an excellent condition (an easy 9.5/10) but the leather was a little bit stiffened from age.

Bought some Johnson's baby wipes from the supermarket, along with a jar of Vaseline.
Cleaned the skins thoroughly with the wipes, you cannot imagine that I blew 55 wipes on them, all turned out black and dirty.

Then I applied Vaseline all over the facias and then stored them inside plastic bags while putting one facia over the other. They have been like this for almost three years now.

Yesterday, I opened the bags and checked the leather. I can confidently say that they cannot be any smoother when they first rolled out of Fuji

Re: Leatherique

Look good but how much softer ? On a scale of 1 to 10 ( 10 being cardboard stiff and 1 is marshmallow soft ) what did yours feel like before treatment and then after ? Mine are about a 7 . I would like mine to be about a 4 ( about = to a 2 or 3 year old outback ) is it too much for me to expect from this product?

Re: Leatherique

I just ordered the qt kit. Can't wait to see the results. I don't need a lot of softening they are sill plyable just starting to get stiff.

Re: Leatherique

They did get noticeably softer, but they were pretty darn soft to begin with, so it wasnt a huge improvement. With very hard leather, they recommend that you let it sit in there for several days and use multiple applications. It will bring back "cardboard hard" leather but it takes a lot of time.

Re: Leatherique

I have a bottle that I have been holding off on using till it warmed up, the passenger seat on my car is very stiff, I am curious to see if it helps. I'll update this thread with my results when I try it out.

I used the rejuvenator oil to restore some Jaguar leather back from "taco" condition, but it took 6 apps.

Re: Leatherique

When you say 6 applications , is that apply , let sit 3 days in hot sun , clean and reapply and repeat 6 times ? Or do u you skip the clean in between and just keep applying ? My seats are soft but not extremely pliable. I got a QT of both Reguv and Cleaner will it be enough for 2 or 3 APPs?

Re: Leatherique

I used about 1/4of the QT bottle or a little less. Did 2 applications
And one cleaning. I don 't know if I am doing it right. I poured it on fairly thick. Rubbed it in. Then let it sit for 3 days in the sun. I cleaned it off and re applied it. Looks about 10% better. I think maybe 3 more times .

Re: Leatherique

I always applied it, covered seats with trash bags, let it sit in the sun for a day. Repeat as many times as necessary, then use cleaner.

You dont need to apply a lot of the Rejuv, my bottles have lasted for years.

Re: Leatherique

I can feel a difference after the two applications . I will clean them and apply and cover. The temp. has dropped around here . I have to wait a few weeks for it to warm up again. I think it makes a bigger difference when the seat ( leather ) is stiffer than mine were. Does it make a difference ( is it better ) if you let it sit for weeks or if you do many apply and cleans. Wondering if the cleaning helps the reguvintor soak in better?
