PS high pressure hose sealant?

When re-installing the power steering high-pressure hose, do the pipe fittings require sealant to prevent leaks?

I've never used any.

There are small O-rings on the fittings

Thanks Tom,
The seal is on the small o-ring, the flare nut just holds it on then

tightening the flare nut applies the pressure on the "0" ring to complete the sealing process.
