New wheels for my SVX

Well I have been waiting for May to do the wheels on the SVX, wanting to use up the last of the winter tires it came with.

Its finally here and I am so glad to be on new wheels.

I couldn't take looking at the old rims the car came with any longer.
They just remind me of my 95 Pontiac Grand Am.

Rims that came on the car:

So, onto the new:

Wheels: 18" Privat – Netz Gloss Black w/ Mirror Machine Lip
Tires: Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 225/40R18 92Y

Looking good! I've always been a fan of those style wheels...

Ironically, I just got the EXACT same tires in the mail today, same size and everything

Wow! What a difference. Nice.
Lets us know how you like the Evo tires. I am considering them, they're a great price.

Re: New wheels for my SVX

Dramatic change to the impression the car makes. I'd like to see those wheels in polished natural alloy.

Re: New wheels for my SVX

This is my first set of hankook tires.

I was running Continental Extreme Contact all seasons on my 2.5RS.

SVX came with blizzak studless on it.

SVX always floated around, was loud, wouldn't hold a corner for crap.

I have put only 40 miles on these tires and I will say they held corners on the on ramps really nicely.

I am not feeling that tires want to roll off the rim feeling anymore.

Major improvement over the shot winter tires.

But that is not saying much.

Its going to rain today, maybe ill go out for a wet performance test.

Re: New wheels for my SVX

Wow that totally transformed the look of your car. Even the paint looked cleaner!

If I can ever decide what rims to go with, I'll be ditching the ugly stock ones in short order. I was going to go with some STi wheels but they still set too far into the wheel well.

Re: New wheels for my SVX

The shot from far away dont do the old rims justice.

This is what the old ones look like up close:

I would say these are much improvement:

Re: New wheels for my SVX

The old uglies appear to have a Mitsubishi symbol in the middle.

Re: New wheels for my SVX

Only that one wheel had a cap, the rest had no caps.
And it looked like a mitsu symbol to me also.
Previous owner said they were off of an eagle talon.

I hated these wheels so much I told the wheel place to trash them along with the tires.

I got a set of stock svx wheels I will put winter tires on.

They look fabulous. Amazing in fact, that spoke pattern is a great fit for the SVX. Congrats!
