Not so with my RHD SVX.
However, most use shops use drivers/passenger side. Took me 3 minutes to make sure the tire shop salesman knew to look at my Right Rear tire, and then when the shop hand came to take the car he told him to check the passenger rear tire. After much discussion I had to go out and show him which tire to check.

Re: front and back of trunk

Well, there can be only one driver's side and passenger side, regardless of which is where.

Well I can see how confusion could set in on RHD cars, since driver side is the opposite side of U.S. cars.

However sailors solved this problem thousands of years ago: Port is ALWAYS left, and starboard is ALWAYS right, regardless if you're looking from the front or back of the ship (car).

If you are looking from the front to the stern of the ship, port or starboard doesn't change. It is always port or starboard looking towards the bow.

Thats what I meant... maybe I worded it wrong. I was saying port and starboard are always the same sides of the ship, regardless of your perspective. Thats how the sailors of old avoided confusion. We could always just say driver and passenger side instead, if it werent for thos kooky RHD models
