What happened to 400 whp or whatever number you said? (this is a joke, incase you get offended)

Sorry, anyway, I've got money on the fuel pump not being up to snuff. If the setup increases the power as it's said it does, there's no way the stock fuel pump can supply enough fuel to those huge ass injectors. Especially if it's a 12 year old fuel pump.

Also, what the hell was the SRT-4 doing? Are you sure it was an SRT-4, and not like an STX with SRT-4 exterior?

So yeah, good luck with it.

Maybe I missed this, but did you guys ever increase the fuel rail volume or add rail plumbing? Could that be an issue, or is stock enough?

I'm positive it was an SRT4. It ripped past me at the end doing over 90MPH. My only guess is he put a huge turbo upgrade on it and has major turbo lag.

Quoting Terry McLane from "The Subaru SVX FAQ";
"For modifications, the fuel pump is a monster (222lbs/hr) meaning it could support about 444 horsepower at .5 BSFC."

But it is a 12 year old fuel pump.

Maybe Bill (SVXRide) can bring Mychailo's wide band to Reading?

My bet is actually the same as Tom's. I think it's too much fuel not too little. My settings in the ECU are for stock fuel pressure. At stock fuel pressure the car will run 11.3 under high load. With increased fuel pressure due to manifold pressure being applied to the fpr it will run richer. Chances are good that moving the vacuum line for the fpr from the manifold to throttle body will make things right as rain.

I'm with Tom, Tom, and LAN. If the car is still running, then seems reasonable to think that the car was running super rich rather than running lean and detonating.

If it was rich you would probably see it coming out the exhaust. My dad has seen it on mine on a 2nd gear run to 6500RPM (stage I).

I watched the higher resolution version of the video and couldn't see anything coming out of the exhaust.

On my set up I had my adjustable fpr set to 35-36 at idle, and it was going up to 43 under boost, even without the rrfpr, also when I disconected the vac (boost) line to the adj fpr, it now reads 39psi all the time.
And on the wideband, the afr's are MUCH more consistant.
Thanks, Young Tom!

Lernding iz fun!

Yeah Mike called me on Sunday to ask that and I can completely agree. If the car runs well with vaccum but not boost a check valve would be perfect to keep it running well when cruising and while romping

That doesn't sound right. 222lbs/hr is like 140 lph. Even a Legacy turbo fuel pump outflows that, at 150 lph, then again those cars are way overengineered. The FSM for an 04 STi lists the pump at 145 lph, with an engine rated for 300 chp. So if the stage III produces 400 hp or whatever, the fuel pump isn't enough for it. Factor in the years of use, and it's really not even a question.

Anyway, I'm sure they'll get it figured out .

According to the Slow GT fuel pump calculator, all you need for 400 HP is 122.7 LPH if you have a B.S.F.C. or 0.50.
Sorry for the bad picture, but I did not know how else to transfer the #s.

Aargh! SVXfiles, install your security updates before someone h4xx0rz your compy!

And the best way to grab the numbers would be a screen capture. Just hit "Print Screen", open any graphics program (even Paint) then hit CTRL+V to paste the image. Save it as a JPEG or whatever, then upload it here
