the new 06 Civic Si

http://www.vtec.net/forums/one-messa...item_id=390953

I think Honda is really trying to up the class and prestige of the Civic with this car. It has a lot of refined things like the navigation system that you wont find on the new eclipse or new Sti or other sport car.

I like the 06 K20Z3 Si a great deal. Especially the fact it has 200 hp with red and black instruments. I predict a winner for Honda. I have heard the engine has an amazing sound to it. And may prove to be the most popular tuner engines Honda has ever developed. Perhaps, it will even have a carbon fiber hood as an option? I'm guessing the stock engine in the Si produces approximately 1.5 hp per cubic inch of displacement or about 110 hp per liter. I might even buy one. If my son will let me..

So what's your point? There two completely different classes of cars. Not to mention the approximately 13k price difference.

Of course the STi doesn't have a nav system. It wouldn't make sense. If I remember correctly, originally they said it wasn't going to come with a radio.

Yea. What good would a electronic navigation system be in a rally car where you already know where your supposed to go...

I never ever considered Civic as a sport car and that too in the same class as STi or EVO. But i do agree that Honda has done considerable work on its new civic to grade it up in he market, but afterall its FWD which I hate to max.

Im not trying to compare an sti to a civic. Sure an Sti is faster and more "sporty" but its also turbo while the si is not.

If you turbo a car that already making 100Hp per liter (the 06 si) I think you would agree it would get alot faster.

Id love an STI if I wasnt a young male IE going to get killed on its insurance.
A friend of mine had an evo 8 when he was 18, i told him to get the STI he didnt and he lost to one, just proved my point lol.

If you look at the pics, they've definitely toned it down a lot in the production version. Shame, because that interior is one of the coolest I've seen in quite a while. Its still decent, just not as neat.
