Glad you are planning to come John, must revise our list. We could be getting close to 10 cars, at least between the two days.

Is your car UK or JDM? If UK, it won't have a spoiler, and I would advise leaving it that way for aesthetics as well as for market value {UK cars that are standard are probably worth £500 more in the market. Would anyone disagree with this estimate?}

If it is JDM, it might have no spoiler, or one like Phil & Belha's car. James used to have the same colour as yours, and his had the US type spoiler on it. It looked pretty good with it, see http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/Jamsvx/4359.jpg

Has it got no spoiler, and you are thinking of fitting one?

Joe

Thanks Joe,
The car is UK spec and UK supplied with no spoiler but I bought one of a guy in the states (CA) and its new unused and got the full fitting kit. My car looks just like the one in your last post, sad I know but its nice to have opinion from the collective. I wish it was one of these add-ons which could easily be reverted........mmmmmmmm

All is not lost as a guy in Germany has his eye on it!

Subaru want £799.00 for the same and A & F Noble in Penicuik have now establish it as the most overpriced part from scooby, I thought it would have increased the value of my car........bit like an extention or conservatory

John

Well, don't just take my word for it, if you think it looks good. I happen to think the US spoiler like James' one looks good on a black or dark car. It is low and elegant, and those in the know will understand yours is UK once they see the glass headlights and the headlights washers. JDM cars never got those, nor US cars either.

If you like the look of it, go for it!!

Like Joe said, when the Jamesons wore off : If you like look of the spoiler, go for it.

A few people on this site have mounted the US spoiler using the holes for the JDM spoiler, this moves it back a couple of inches and IMHO it looks better.

Phil.

Here is a better photo - the difference in colour between the Dark Grey Metallic and the Solid Black is more obvious here!

Thanks Jason.

That's a good photo, and the car looks great.

The only noticable difference is John's car has the UK side reflectors. Also, I think he could site the spoiler farther back like Phil says, as he has to drill thebootlid for it anyway.

Looks very well.

Joe

Thanks for the photo Jason, it certainly looks 'the poodles db' and does look good with the spoiler. I'm going to hang back for now on weather it goes on or not.

Paint!

Talked to main man at my local dealer, Nobles, who runs there body shop and he in turn spoke with Subaru, here goes......
They said the boot/trunk and side trim are made from resin and the black is not a pigment for paint but for resin and is added at the molding stage, the same pigment is added to the paint 'vehicle' for the roof at piont of manufacture.
He was advised if doing a repair to try basic black tint which is used for colour mixing as there is no colour code for the black.

So, back to Halfords!

All opinons most welcome
