I've been using the Valvoline Synpower stuff too. stuff works pretty well so far as I can tell. I haven't noticed any fade even in spirited driving. I have SS lines too, so that counts for something. but the fluid seems pretty good.

I agree that street racing is just plain dumb. Without even considering that one could kill themselves or someone else, around here, if a person is caught street racing, the car is impounded and you go to jail. Just not worth the risk....

Thanks Harry, nicely put.

I'd have the recommend the Motul 5.1
for my trip to Watkins Glen, we changed out the fluid to DOT 4 and that still didn't quite cut it. By the end of my first session on the track, the brakes were super mussy. Ended up cuttin' my track time short to swap fluid to Motul. Things worked much better after that.

Chike,
Synpower here, too! While you're at it, why don't you switch to ss brake lines (oops, that's right, you did the tie-wrap mod ). Big thing is to make sure you bleed the brakes according to the suggest Subaru procedure (do a search on bleeding brakes...). It's really nice if you can get one of those pressure attachments for the master cylinder instead of manually pumping the brakes.

Bill,

Bring your bleeder when you come up on the 23rd. I'm have some interesting front brake lines that I'd like swapped in. They should be a direct fit for our cars and offer similar firmness to the zip-tied lines that I have on there now.

Plus, since they have a rubber covering on the outside, I'll be able to get away with them in G Stock SCCA competition.

Chike,
Trans/Diff swap out AND brake line replacement all in one day? I'm going to have to check for the big S on your chest and Mike's
-Bill
p.s. I'm hopefully going to be able to nail down the "why no AWD" issue this weekend while I'm replacing the radiator...
