Stebro Exhaust clip?

Does anyone happen to have a good sound clip of the Stebro exhaust? I did find a few, and they were OK, but they had quite a bit of background noise. I'm looking for a high quality one if anyone has one.

TIA

nope

I could make a little clip of the way my custom exhaust sounds if you like. Why do you want to go with stebro anyway? Sung Bea had that set up on his SVX here in KC and it sounds like crap. I mean it sounds goodwhen idling (got a nice throaty rumble) but horrible any other time. One the highway it completely destroys highway driving since its so loud all the time. You have to keep the radio cranked up continuously to drown it out.
PM me if you want to hear what mine sounds like. Its got a bit more rumble to it than stock but not overpowering.

I'll see if I can go get one

I disagree with Halistan.

I have had Stebro on my car for about 1.5 years now. Overall, I like it a lot. It is a bit loud on the highway, but not unbearable. I do quite a bit of hway driving with trips as long as 12 hours. As long as it is under 3k rpms (about 90 mph) it really isn't too bad. Around town is great. The idle is good, not too loud, a good deep growl though.

The only clip that I have has quite a bit of background noise. I'll go see if I can get a better one.

I got a sterbo exhaust on my car and it sounds great at idling and on the highway. Yes, its louder then stock, but its not that much louder.
I drove from Connecticut to the reading meet and back with an exhaust leak in front of my secondary CAT, now that was loud on the highway.

Just recorded a new clip...

It is a bit noisy towards the end because I tried to get it under heavy acceleration.

The first part has med accel and revving at a stand-still.

If he wants to take a fantastically crafted piece of refined machinery and make it sound like a chopped up Honda Rice burner by all means i think he should. I was just under the assumption that he had a sense of taste and wanted to make his car better.

I'm just jerkin your chain Landshark. A lot of people really do like the stebro system, many don't...and some get the system and find out that they hate it. I feel for those poor souls. I just thought I would offer the guy another option. It costs about 1/5th the price of the stebro, sounds better and adds more HP....but hey, not everyone thinks that is important

If you still want to hear what my modified cat system sounds like just PM me and i'll find a way to get a file of it. Thanks.

Here are a couple clips for you:

These are with the primary cats in place. If the primary cats are removed, its about twice as loud.

got dyno plots of stock exhaust vs. yours?

your exhaust would never pass inspection here, anyways. removal of the factory emissions equipment is illegal. upnygimp may want to spend the extra money, because being in NY, your custom exhaust will be rotted away after a few winters. Stebro = stainless steel.

you can't handle the 'Bro!

im wondering if what you heard was actually the stebro, halistan? It sounds like a ferrari or other exotic. It's not terribly loud at all, and FAR from ricey.

I just looked at your exhaust pics, too. WOW... Getting that thing to pass inspection would be fun. Have you guys got visual emissions inspection there?

Nope, no dyno tests but if you want to put yours up against mine i'll do it in a heartbeat

As far as being illegal i really think you should check the fine print of your laws. Most states make it illegal up to a certain age. KS, OK, CA and a few other have thiers set around 50~100K miles. After that point you are allowed to remove them to replace them with new cats (they do not have to be OEM) as long as it will pass emissions tests. My car passes CA emmisions and if it passes there i'm sure it will pass in NY.

The new cats on my system are stainless steel and don't rust (the piping might). If they did though i wouldn't care. The entire system cost me $306 (cats, labor and all) so if i ever had to have it redone then i could 3 or 4 times before i even came close to the cost of the stebro.

Like i said before, do what you like but i would pick my set up over yours any day of the week.

so you know more than the engineers at Stebro? your butt-dyno must be pretty accurate.

my car would probably pass emissions with no cats, but not the visual inspection required by many states. not an option.

uhh... i paid $750 for the Stebro. its not $900-$1200. i installed it myself in about 15 minutes. have fun taking it to the shop 3 or 4 times.
