John,

I downloaded a free pop-up stopper from a site that was in a thread on "this here network" some time ago. It's been working great. I just have to remember to hold down the Crtl key when I want the extra private message window to pop-up.

EMS FREESURFER MK II is what you want. Best popup stopper there is.

It might be a good idea, if you already haven't, to make sure you don’t have Gain/Gator installed on your computer. This causes a preponderance of pop-ups. You can remove it with Ad-Aware.

Use Netscape/Mozilla...it's built in. (plus a better browser IMO)

I've been using mozilla for about a week now. Much better than IE - seems faster too. Pop up blocker hasn't failed me yet and the tabbed browsing is awesome. With mozilla you can get all the good features of netscape without the extra fat and you can pretend you're elite cause not many people know what it is
