I belive it was the 95's that were limited. Due to the fact my 94 has been up to 151. I will have to check on that however.

I've had mine up near there but really didn't want to spend much time looking DOWN. Through I had plenty of room ahead of me, cars travalling at 70-80 sure do come up fast when your nearly double that.

The car is wonderful to drive FAST and I love it, but over 120 seems a bit extreme. I realize that is an arbitrary number but it seems the car (or I) get a little 'skittish' up there.

I DO love that shift to 4th at 100+ !! What a kick!
Jeff,

GPS receivers have a hard time working in the SVX, but I noticed one day that mine was working especially well - to an estimated accuracy of 3ft. I took the car up to about 120. At that speed, my speedo (compared to the GPS) overestimated the speed by 1-2mph.

So mine's pretty damned accurate, according to the GPS on that day. I need a decent active antenna in the trunk to get a good fix. Yes, you can imagine me in the trunk of the car, with the lid closed, checking to see if the GPS works better - because I did and it does.

BTW, I still want to find an active antenna with a long enough lead to reach from the trunk to the dash. I have tried to order one from a few different manufacturers. Out of the different results, all boil down to the same thing: no success in actually acquiring the antenna.

GPS in the trunk for a better signal. Another good use for the Trunk Monkey.

In the "other" group (seems so long ago), and on my website where I describe my feelings about the car, I stated that I had been "faster than 135". I was told in no uncertain terms that it wasn't possible because the cars were limited after some year that I don't remember. Like I said on my webpage, "Bull, I know they will go that fast" (even my '96). This group seems to justify my comment. I don't know about 150, never had the balls (or the highway) to go faster than 136 or so. Maybe I'll get to a track someday. After all, I live only a few miles away from one of the best tracks in the world; Sebring.

I have only had one chance to open it up all the way and mine just seemed to stick at 136 and it is a 92. And trust me when i say left my foot there for a while and no change in speed. but I do know I had an exhaust leak and intake leak so that might of been the problem.

Randy...read more carefully :)

I said <<post '92 SVX's >> as in AFTER '92. I know the '92 is not limited. I don't known when they started limiting them though. I know that mine is. and I suppose that is for the best.

Ooops. I was probably reading TOO carefully. I read it as "all post" as in "posting a message" instead of "post" as in "pre." My bad ---- carry on.

I belive its 95's up that are limited, due to the fact that in 95 they made chages to the computer system. If you are doing any comp chips, 92-94 are the same, but 95-97 requires a diffrent chip. Plus like I stated before I had my 94' LS up to 151. I guess I will have to do alittle reserach on this one.

????

You guys feel free to jump on this if you need to. I recall reading either here or the site know as Yaywoo, that 92s were limited to 154(about) and later SVXs were limited to somewhere in the 130s, using 2 different methods. I don't remember who posted it, or if it was documented. Just wondering if previous info. is wrong?
Mike

Being the "old hippie" non-conformist that I am, I'm kind of uncomfortable being a part of the majority here.

QUESTION: By becoming a non-conformist, are you actually becoming a conformist to non-conformity?

Randy,

It was my understanding that the '92's were limited to 156 mph and '94-'97's were limited to 143 mph. I don't know about the '93's. I surmise that they were the same as the '92's.
Does anyone have the real facts?

Larry III

Ooops. Sorry, Kev. Have someone smack you in the back of the head -- perhaps that will help.

ANOTHER QUESTION: Why is it that those who claim to be tolerant are very intolerant of the intolerant? Shouldn't tolerance also be extended to the intolerant? Isn't bigotry against bigots a form of bigotry?

shouldn't corporate carecenters, actually care. or helpdesks actually help? Here at Verizon that sure is not the case
