Norway mini meet and some interesting findings

The new "local" owner and I met up today and it looked like this:

Unfortunately, I only took a few pictures.

This Dark Grey Metallic car was manufactured in 1991 and has a few distinct features. It's a "full shabang" package with sunroof and leather seats. It lacks mirror heaters and has no passenger side airbag. It's got adjustable front lights and LED in the rear (which might have been added). It's at 270' KM now and has seen some work on the exhaust. The mouthpieces are not standard SVX, they are short and rounded, somehwat reminiscent of spec.B cars.

The most distinctive features of this particular car are the steering wheel and step lights. The latter have RED plastic which looks awesome. The steering wheel apparently has an airbag but is of the "original" and much slimmer design I've seen on Japanese cars.

I have no way to determine what was added after the car was bought but as the two previous owners are known and forthcoming, I hope to get a more complete history from this car later on.

(pause to look up jetboy's other posts) Yes, I assume that would be Norway Norway - awesome to see cars from other parts of our planet!

Actually, #3 of 7 originally imported VTD "S4-LHD" car has now been offered for sale here. So with a bit of luck, we might be 4 SVX enthusiasts in this country soon

The unit itself can be the "sister" of my own. They are completely identical and I'm looking forward to see the VIN and compare it to my own car's.

Looks very much like a UK spec car apart from the AC/heater controls (only 1 digital display) I think only UK and JDM got the 2 displays, and it's obviously not RHD.

2 displays? My Climate Control has a single display where you set the desired temperature. I can press "AUTO" and let it sort ifself out or fiddle with details if I want that.

What's the second display for? Two-zone CC?

He is referring to the RHD climate control panel. All RHD cars had a different (and from what I guess a more costly) panel interface than LHD cars.

See attached pic.

Also, do you have a picture of the steering wheel you described in your first post?

Yes but the import tax alone today (cars younger than 30 years are eligable for import tax and VAT, somewhat reduced according to age) would be $16.500. So the _actual_ asking price by american standards (with no import tax and little VAT I presume) would be $5500.

Keep in mind that my car was purchased at $170.000 adjusted for inflation and using today's exchange rate). Apparently, in 1997 the average rate was 6.5 NOK to one dollar = ~112kUSD was the REAL price in 1997!

On the other hand, I'm not sure he will get the asking price. SVXes are either sold at near to or on asking price the same day they are advertised or at huuuge discount when the seller just has to get _some_ cash in.
