Got this leak in front of the PS pump...

It appears as though I have a slight leak coming from the front of the pump where there is a seal and a bearing located. Has anyone else experienced a leak in this area? It seems easy to remove but I hesitate to do it until I get a new seal first.

Subaruparts has the seal: p/n 34424AA000 $6.97

Check the How-To Docs for the O-Ring replacement of the tank (steering section). That is usually what fixes the problem. The part is about $1.00 or less for the O-Ring. Good luck.

thanks, unfortunately, that is not the source of my leak. Besides, that O ring is new.

I have oil puddling in front of the snap ring, which is front of the bearing, which is in front of the shaft seal. The oil puddle is evident when the pump pulley is removed.

Might as well replace all of the O-rings if your going as far as pulling the shaft out of the front housing...all of the part #s are in the howto

Whatever you do, do it sooner than later. I've had 2 PS pumps leak there that quickly spilled their guts.

All the others O rings have been replaced. I don't know how I missed this seal Unless of course I replaced it and it is still leaking. Let me look through my receipts.
