Another potential LED mod.

This is not about grille lights, but is somewhat related as an LED strip is being used.

I am in the process of trying a mod using this very flexible LED strip. It is fully encased in silicone and totally waterproof. In fact I coiled it up and totally submerged the strip into a bottle of water and connected it to 12V. It lit up and continued functioning after 2 hours that way.

This 19" strip with 48 white LEDs was only $4.80 including shipping from China

No, I'm not going to try to illuminate my coolant and windshield washer reservoirs, Blue windshield washer and green antifreeze mood lighting? NOT!

When the mod is finished, all you will see is the surface of the LEDs as in the above photo. Punching or drilling 48 exactly-placed holes is a one time shot.

Re: SVX Grille Lights

So can you cut the strip to make it shorter? or is 19" it?

I'm gonna guess you put it in the headlights, Audi style. There's been too much talk for someone not to.

Although, I would be tempted to put them on the underside of the car, waterproof as they are. As I live in florida, I can legally do that. (Only either both sides or front and back, not all four).

Re: SVX Grille Lights

Where you need more light? Humm

John, are you drilling the front edge of the undertray, to put some light under the front of the car?

How about turning the bulbs upward, lighting the immaculate engine compartment?

As creative as you are, I know this will be something to appreciate
