Heater air turns cold.
I've noticed the last few weeks, that the heater in my car, turns to cold air.
I will be in the car, and the hot air is blowing, then all of a sudden.......it turns freezing cold! Eventually it goes back to hot air. Has this happend to anyone? Comments? Deja |

It was happening to me.
Car would heat fine when moving but cold air started when at stop lights or parked. I also noticed slight overheating as well. Turns out my overflow hose had a tear in it. My antifreeze was low because of it. I replaced the hose. Filled up the radiator and the heat works perfect again. I would check for bad hoses. It could also be a bad water pump. Suggestion - run the diagnostic on the environmental system - you may have a bad potentiometer in your air flow control motor (it may be shifting from letting in hot air to letting in outside air).

Another thing that could cause this is a sticking thermostat. It would only happen once after sitting for a long time (overnight).
When it unsticks all the cold antifreeze goes through the heater core and hence the cold air. My Justy is doing this right now. This wouldn't be the case if it happens repeatedly during the same trip.
