When you say centenary plates - do you mean those special plates issued for the 1988 bicentenary?

Talking Silver SVX Spotted (AGAIN!)

My prayers have been answered - I saw an SVX for the first time in over a month!

Date : Monday, 14th March, 2005

Time : 5:52 pm

Location : Sydney Harbour Bridge - travelling south.

Rego : AFO-37R

.........sorry James - I didn't get any other info - I literally saw it for a split second!

As luck would have it - this is the worst possible place to spot an SVX.........

.........because there was no way for me to turn around and chase it (I was travelling in the opposite direction!)

This is the second time that I have seen this SVX - and I couldn't chase it the last time either!

I don't care though - seeing that SVX really made my day!

Jason.

Happened to be wandering around Cabramatta (got a dentist there) and spotted a Black topped Burgundy driving into a garage off the Hume Highway.
Caught the plate as
AAF-98K and realised it was Blake.

As a side note, the airplane customer I have at work that was interested in an
SVX came to work the other day and gave me a copy of the 'ROAD & TRACKS' magazine guide to the SVX !
You can see a scaned PDF at;
SVX Magazine
Just makes you fall in love with it again!

White SVX Spotted (Again!)

Date : Monday, 4th April, 2005.

Time : 9:58 pm.

Location : Ryde Road, at the Yanko Road intersection, travelling north.

Rego : HAT - 132 (Black on yellow NSW plates)

This is the second time that I have seen this particular SVX.................

..........and on both occasions, I have been a passenger in somebody else's car!!!!

That night, a friend was driving me home on Yanko Road, and we stopped at the Ryde Road intersection, to turn right.

As we are waiting for the lights to change, that white SVX shoots past right in front of us!

I instantly grabbed a piece of paper out of my pocket, and wrote the rego down!

.............my friend didn't even notice what had driven past us!

..............there is an art to SVX spotting!

Jason.

Jason i'm going to use your layout of svx sightings as my template!

Date : Sunday 10 April, 2005.

Time : 7:20 pm.

Location : M5 heading east from before toll booth to fairford road (where he exited)

Rego : MRS OOB (Black on white NSW plates)

AWWWW the joy mixed with frustration! I was on my way back from the Canberra marathon last night (where i got the exact time as last year- so much for shaving 25 mins off!). Chris is away so i was in the car with my parents and brother when dad noticed some svx lights ahead- we got behind and i realised just how good svxs look at night in the dark, mum, dad and i were trying to work out why anyone would have as numberplate mrs oob and what the oob stood for when my brother opened his eyes and informed us it meant Mr Soob ahhhhh hehe. We got next to him and i was in the back of parents car pointing and waving and we were all checking it out. I think he was quite bemused. After the toll gates he came rather close to an encounter with the dividing wall. hmmmm such a shame i was not in my soob!

Karin i have been trying to see waving from any volvos around monas- is yours silver? I have not seen the white one around the corner from me since the first sighting

volvo description

Hi Moshols

Travelled to the south coast for a break and didn't see a single SVX except for a Nissan that looked incredibly like an SVX, but wasn't on closer inspection

Newportclaret limped into our mechanic and I thought she may need the paddles in the ER, but twas only the bearings in the rear wheel and two cv joints. I shouldn't have doubted our mechanic, he's a legend without an SVX manual!

Yes - our unmentionable vehicle's colour is silver with black cargo basket on top - you can see the Griswalds coming for miles oft with bikes and trainer wheels fighting for space on the bike rack and a "Mona Vale Hospital - the Perfect Hospital Site" sticker on the rear window (Would you like a sticker - you're probably a "Save Manly Hospital" stickler - but vee have vays of persvading you to change your vay of sinking! - Manly Hospital is history - the vay of the future is Mona Vale darling!

If you think our volvo is silver, does this mean you've caught a glimpse of a neurotic mother (in desperate need of a supernanny) with 3 kids in the Woolies car park or was it just a good guess? Have to start a volvo sighting site!? - mind boggling - sightings would be every nanosecond.

Karin

Hi Karin

Last weekend i saw Paulie's svx parked in mona vale so i stopped by for a while- he has taken the spoiler off & it looks good without it. I was wishing i had your mobile number and we could have driven by your svx- or a short palm beach cruise for a Sunday arvo....

I am all for mona vale hospital but i'm not quite ready to add the sticker to my car although it is growing on me! The sticker is an institution- every time i see it on cars now i get a warm feeling of errr belonging, especially when i see it on cars outside the area. How long do you need to be a resident for to be able to display one?

SVX Sighting: Last night Chris phoned me to tell me he had just been tailgated by an svx and the number plate was JDW 002- That was you Jason!

On boundary road at about 7ish....... Jason have you lost your phone or changed numbers? I phoned the other day when i saw Paulie to see if you wanted to go for a drive but your phone was on message bank and a double svx cruise isn't quite enough

On 21st April, my brother texted me and informed me of an svx outside westfield Bondi 8:45 pm:

'kkw923 white with black roof. Grandpa driving, followin thru harbour tunnel'

I have lots of handy svx sighters who are diligent number plate recorders!

What are the chances of that!!! What car was Chris driving?

My phone should be working properly now - when my number was ported from Telstra to 3G, they stuffed up the voicemail and call divert settings!

The advantage is that I now have a phone that can take photos - a VERY handy feature when you unexpectedly see an SVX!! (see my previous post!!)

Natural Habitat of SVX

I'm convinced that Pittwater is the natural habitat of the rare and beautiful SVX. Seems to be a nest in Palm Beach. These sightings elsewhere must be chance sightings of migratory SVXs or ones who've lost their way.

Not an SVX problem

Can someone out there in cyber land please solve this for me:-

101 - 102 = 1

Move one digit only to make the equation true. No moving equal signs or minus signs and only one move. I can't get it and if I spend any amount of time on it I go completely nuts. It has to be tragically simple like me.

White svx was the same Jason!

Jason- the svx you saw is the same one I saw a few weeks ago- I thought they lived near me but I have not seen it since that initial sighting. Awww

I grow to love svxing more with every passing day and Karin I am thrilled to be part of the svx's 'natural habitat' as you so aptly put it.

Sorry but I don't have enough spare brain cells to solve your problem- did you get the solution?

I would love to go on a drive soooon with at least 2 others.... wink wink.... Karin, Jason, Paulie..... (then it would be 4...)

I saw a green one, I saw a green one!!!

I saw a green one on Eastern Valley Way on Wednesday around lunch time heading south - couldn't give chase as it was going the other way and I had to get to Woolies! no rego - sorry guys.

We can't go on a drive - it's just the too hard basket at the moment - the kids take up every moment and there just aren't enough seats in newportclaret and she's looking a little corked at the moment - lot of sediment building up, needs a polish and some TLC - would a drive from Newport to the Woolies car park suffice, or maybe between toddler birthday parties - maybe not.

No left brains out there - still have no answer to the problem I posted - surely SVX heads are left brainers!
