Ventilated disks are shown in the Australian Shop manual, but I have never seen them. I guess they are thicker, so would use different calipers, also.

wakehurst parkway sighting

Driving home to newport (shamefully not in svx) sighted dark green low flying, tinted-windowed svx slip streaming in opposite direction (3.30pm 10/2/05) - recited rego in head for a couple of kilometres before jotting down on shopping list, then left shopping list in shopping trolley - Woops - failed first sighting! (had an A and an F in it I think)

Ooooooh, shame on you Karin!

James would have bitten his finger and written the number in blood on the windscreen or on Cassie's Tshirt.

Talking Claret SVX Spotted!!

Date : Friday, 11th February 2005

Time : 7:58 am

Location : North Sydney Railway Car Park.

Rego : AET-90M

Finally! After weeks of watching the North Sydney Station Car Park from the train as I travel into the city each morning, I look out......................

.............and see a Claret SVX pulling into a parking space!!!

I'm sorry newportclaret - but it seems that the "svx spies" have found you!!!

How true!!

The worst (aside from trying to get Cassie to get out and run up the line of traffic at the lights to an SVX) was when I had a Sigma....do you think I could find a pen and paper, nope!

Did the next best thing....grabbed the housekeys in my other pocket can, I kid you not, carved the rego into the dashboard!!

Picked Cassie up, she saw it and said words to the effect "You didn't....tell me that is not what I think it is!"

But Joe, your idea is a classic!!

Take note Karin!!! You must stop at nothing for the glory of SVX-dom!!!

That reminds me of the time several months ago, when I saw a claret SVX on Victoria Road - but I had no paper to write the rego down on!

So - I simply recited the rego out loud for about 5 minutes.........

.........until I could find something to write on!!

However - I would not have dared to carve the rego into the dashboard!!

..........SVX dashboards must never be touched.........!!!

I did think of fingernailing it into the dashboard, but (dare I say it) it's a volvo and an airbag might have activated and I'd definitely have trouble explaining that one to the officer - trouble enough explaining our volvo affliction to SVXionados - kids, it's for the kids OK.

I spoke to BJ's aunty in Woolies tonight (yes I have a Woolies problem - only time I get with no kids - tragic really - I feel loik Kath & Kim at Fountaingate Shopping Centre) and she confirmed that BJ is on the market (black top white belly). I didn't explain to her how I knew it was on the market - DENIAL - must attend one of those SVXA meetings toute de suite.
Have a good one.

2 sightings - black on red and a green one

Predictably sighted 2 SVXs whilst in an insignificant vehicle, so waving and flashing lights - we'd have looked like the Griswalds in an unspeakable model of car loaded up with kids bikes and camping equipment. The details follow:

Didn't need Tony's blood to scrawl the rego plates down this time!

Black top red belly (YET 194)
Sunday, 20 Feb 2005 (2.40pm)
Shell Service Station North Narrabeen
queuing for petrol
male driver (oblivious to tragic volvo voyeurs)

Green (ANK 001)
Monday, 28 Feb 2005 (1pm)
Veterans Pde Collaroy Plateau
male driver in white surf label T drove in a southerly direction towards the Time and Tide Hotel in Dee Why/Cromer pursued by tragic in volvo with headlights on in daylight (you just never know when there's going to be a thick fog on the northern beaches) and my two toddlers wondering why their mother was driving like a P-plater in a souped up Commodore - not that there's anything wrong with P-platers in Commodores - I chickened out at the turn into a business park (not very Viking of me [I'm a Viking, hence the daylight headlights]) and found myself turning off in embarrassment into a rabbit warren of streets I'd never known existed feeling like a pathetic volvo driving housewife - found my way back to main road, shook myself and headed back up the beaches a failure. Resolve - to keep my composure at next sighting and have camera installed in dash.

.................that reminds me - where is Paulie? He hasn't been on the forum for a while!

I haven't heard of that other SVX though!

What a great idea!

The last three times that I saw an SVX, I was unable to take a photo because I had left my camera at home.....

..........and my primitive mobile phone does not have a camera built in!

I knew I'd seen it somewhere!!, finally got around to uploading my camera memory into my computer and was able to blow up the picture of the restaurant visiting SVX!
It would appear to be;
TT-323
Any ideas?
Arthur.
ps, I've got an aeroplane owning customer at work that just realised the 'sexy' car in the carpark was mine and wanted to know if any where available?
Is that yellow one still for sale?

Thumbs up Yippee

YAY!
10:15am 9 March 2005
Sydney Road Balgowlah heading toward Manly Silver svx with centenary plates 'svx-???'

The joy! I waved but could not turn back to pursue as i was running just on time. I can't believe how fast my heart beats when the second glance of a car reveals that it is an svx!

woohoo. I think I saw this one in a car park in Manly last year and left a note.
