Shifter adjustment
I did a trans swap auto to auto just the norm
and after it was done sometimes when you put the car what says Park on the dash and on the console shifter part it wont start. Something with the nuetral safety switch not in adjustment I didnt see any adjustment under the car, has anyone run into this before ?

I had Ron Mummert do that to my car when I put in the new tranny. He told me it was the ripemoff industries starter immobilizer system.
You should be able to adjust the linkage to get it right.

Generally... Japanese cars have a neutral start (inhibitor switch, to them) mounted with two bolts to the transmission, behind where the shifter cable/arm attach to the transmission. Place the tranny in neutral. It's easier to remove the arm (use channelocks if nescessary to hold the arm) and remove the nut, then the shift arm. Look at the switch, there should be a small notch in the plastic portion of the switch that will align with a slot in the portion that keys to the shifter shaft. Loosen the two attaching bolts and rotate the switch until the notch/slots align, then retighten the two screws. Reattach the arm and cable and you should be good to go.
Then again, the SVX might be totally different and none of this will apply.

Happened to me last week with a 91 Legacy Turbo we have sitting on the lot. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start; I just thought the battery was toast. It was toast, but the shifter was also not registering being in park properly, as I eventually figured out that the car would start in Neutral. I vigorously moved the shifter back and forth a few times, and that seemed to clear up the problem.
