Insulated exhaust pipes and CAT.

I cleaned up the exhaust pipes from the headers to the last CAT, painted them silver, insulated and installed the heat shields. Gosh I hope they don't melt.

Looks nice. Did you have to use new nuts/bolts for the heat shields? Does the car run any differently?

Thanks. I thought it came out looking real nice too. Now I just have to wait and see how long it will last. I do not know about any differences yet other than.... No rattleing heat shields. The will never rattle again.

I could tell you it's faster and quieter and not as hot but I haven't driven it in 3 weeks and my judgement is coulded at the moment.

The nuts and bolts were difficult to get off. They have to be cut off. I used some old ones as they will just corrode back into place again, some new stainless ones and some new plain steel ones.

It all smells as the paint and insulation burns off.
