Question What does it do?

What does the little gauge in the top left corner of the cluster do or supposed to tell you?

It's the one with the little picture of the car from a side view (next to RPM gauge and above the temp.)

I have a FWD SVX. I never seem to see it light up at all. At first I thought it showed your trunk or hood was open, but from experiment that wasn't the case.

Does it have a function for AWD SVX's? (or should it for FWD too?)

In the AWD SVX's, there is a light there that says "AT OIL TEMP" which is suppost to let yo know if your tranny is over heating. Also, in the AWD SVX's, there is a FWD light there for when the rear wheels are disengaged.

FWD has 2 lights. I can't remember what they are. AWD has 3 and JDM 4WS has all 4 lights.

On the FWD SVX, I recall that 2 of those area that are supposed to light up are covered from the back with a black tape.

Remember that the "AT oil temp" light functions as the "power" light in flashing to indicate transmission faults in later models that don't have a "power" light.
