Steering noise when cold????
hey anyone know what could be causing a noise whenever i turn the wheel (only happens in the morning) when i turn out of my parking stall.... it goes away when i go about 50 feet -lol- its minor but i'm gettgin annoyed at my wife for asking the question everytime she hears it ... any ideas? could this be related to the power steering hoses?....someone had linked my burning fluid smell after a hard run on the freeway to the powerstering fluid (possible cracked hoses?) ...or could this be a bearing? i dunno its SEEMS to be only when the car is cold....

It is possible the belt is slipping. The PS pump uses more power when the PS fluid is cold. Turning the steering wheel activiates the PS system (so to speak) and requires more power from the pump. If the fluid has never been changed it would be wise to do so. Old fluid is thicker.
