Did a little sound test.

I took my new camera, and set it to mic mode, and held it near an exhaust outlet.
I took my old camera, with it's nonfunctioning video and did the same. I set them recording and had the vehicle start up and idle for a few seconds. I moved them both closer to the tip after a couple seconds.

I then cropped them and removed the "video" (yay VirtualDub), or lack thereof from my Canon.

Here is the results.

Even if you don't care about my cameras, this is a pretty sweet exhaust note, if ou ignore the other fidgety camera sounds.

It's much sweeter in real life, but hey, I can't have my sound quality and eat it too.

Um, I listened to them on both my laptop and my 4.1 on my desktop, and it really sounds like crap on my tiny laptop speakers. Oh well.
