Thumbs down Chromatic aberration

Me too neither. Page not available.

However, there are tarted up SVX's on this site. Some have OTT chrome wheels. To me the car is about understated power, and more than a little elegance. These wheels on an SVX are like a pretty lady with too much eye make-up. However, that's me and my opinion, I don't wish to offend anyone who likes to make his/her car stand out from the crowd.

Eddycat likes to keep the car bog standard, and Joe Aycock thinks it is perfect also. Mostly I agree with this, but possibly a chrome grill would look good on a black, or maybe, a silver car. Chrome wheels also might suit, but should be restrained, not of the "Look at me!!!!" variety.

Difficult car to improve on, but that is not necessarily the object of most customisers. Anybody like the minimalism and restraint and attention to detail of Ford's 49er concept car??

Joe

it was listed as an "Option"

Okay, here's a poll to start. How many of us out there have "wingless" SVX's? Mine is without a wing and I like it that way. I test drove one with a wing and didn't care for the lack of a view out the rear window while backing up. Also, test drove an Impreza RS yesterday (while the "Bordeaux Beast" is in for bearings) and kept getting distracted by the "goal post" wing out the back window. The car looked nice with it but it looked strange in the rear view mirror.

Anyway, who else out there is wingless?

Hmmmmm. Veeery Interesting. Now that I have a spare set of stock wheels, I've been thinking about having one set done in "Black Chrome." Just to have a bit of variety.

<<I've been thinking about having one set done in "Black Chrome." >>

After this last winter and seeing how these rims collect snow (and unbalance the wheels) I was thinking of having the paint stripped of them and coating the inside (toward the engine) with a PTFE (teflon) and then doing the outside with a stock silver color. My thinking is the coating would prevent snow from accumulating on the inside of the rim.

dayle...

wow, saw the pics of your car this morning and it looks really good, not as good as mine but good nonetheless! i had to scream at my wife yesterday for not getting my pics developed. but hopefully by this week i will have some pics, finally, of the car online. i think everyone will be impressed. the car has really come along way. it is a work in progress with the next step being paint at some point. eventually i would like to add some better seats to the interior but for now i really just want to get the car mechanically solid. i did like your wheels, very impressive. i almost bought some team dynamic wheels in that color but decided to stay with silver. my wife's gti is black so i may go with the black antracite look on her car.

So far, I haven't been able to experience the "snow" phenomenon. I'm looking forward to finally having AWD and seeing some snow. Wasn't enough to worry about, this winter.

Beautiful car but... I don't really like the chin spoiler in front. Just me and my "stock is beautiful" thing. Got any pictures of the Toyota? I've never seen one, unless you count the hundreds of time I've kicked ass in GT driving one!

i like the spoiler.

i think the spoiler looks great but with my car already lowered it would quickly get ripped off. too bad really.....
