Given that you have to sign up for the 20th on the 13th, probably not. Right now, it looks like I won't have the car back from AWD until the 16th, with a "corner balance/precision alignment" session at AndrewTech penciled in for the 18th. -Bill

FIRST Local Mercedes Autocross
Last Sunday (April 27) was the first autocross of the season for the Mercedes Club. Pretty good turnout (40 cars) considering the kinda rainy / cloudy day and only 60 degrees. I did manage to get a few pics and some folks took a few of the SVX. The link in Photo Bucket is: http://s222.photobucket.com/albums/d...l%2027%202008/
The fastest time of the day was between Mike Wirt (RUFUS) and his Porsche and a ZO6 Corvette. They were at 47.1 seconds. The SVX was running pretty well at 50.1 seconds. One good movie clip of OT's excellent exhaust system for the SVX. The other one is good too, but the clip did not cover the entire run . But a fun day. BTW, this was a Mike Wirt designed course!! Harry,
What, no blue cloud of smoke? Exhaust sounds great! What tires are you running? I've got just the solution for the excessive body lean you're experiencing -Bill

Billy,
Uh .... OT replaced the engine for me when one of the cylinders was down to 60 # compression. The "used" engine has 113K miles on it, but seems to run strong - and NO SMOKE! Yes, I do NEED the Konies, but due to cost, they will probably have to wait until next year. The wife is not a happy camper on what I have spent on the car thus far. Of course I have more in the car than it is worth, but the body and interior is in really good shape - and now the mechanical side is pretty well squared away (except for the struts - they have 135K miles on them). Clearly the car would handle better if the struts were replaced .... What do you have laying back in the garage?? BTW, what is this I am hearing about Cal Ripken Stadium no longer being available for the Subaru Challenge? Where will they hold it now? Harry

About one month ago on NASIOC, a member who has been responsible for orginazing the Subaru Challenges (Opie), posted that SOA would not be organizing any in 2008. I had offers to co-drive a D-Stock WRX sedan & wagon if the event had been held...

Yep, OT told me the whole "driving home and losing a cylinder after consuming multiple quarts of oil" story Now that Racer X has gone the full Koni/GC route, my set of Mychailo springs are available. Interested? They will work with the stock struts and get rid of the majority of that body roll you're experiencing On the Subaru Challenge front, check out http://www.subaruchallenge.com/ It looks like Subaru is looking for local dealerships to foot the entire cost of the event. I'm wondering if Annapolis Subaru and Wilkens Subaru would be interested. We might need to start an email campaign involving all of the local Subaru dealerships... -Bill

Bill,
I think we should talk about the springs - wouldn't do me a lot of good without new struts though ..... PM me your thoughts .... I am interested ... I hope they do have a Challenge this year - I agree. Maybe we should start an email effort to the dealers. Do you have the email addresses and specifically who to send them to? Harry
