Uuggghhh
I got my car back from being fixed (read: i just got screwed in tech) last night and today I took my car to Turtle Wax, because my mom is trying to sell her car(to buy and SVX) and needed hers washed, so I said Hey mines dirty I'm going to get it washed. so this huge corporation that has car wash places all over the nation, creates their own "good" products still doesn't know how to wash a #)*&$% car breaks my freakin drivers side mirror off and dent my bumper. They gave me a claim for the mirror, the moter still works but its just not really connected solidly to the car, it kinda leans over, but since my the paint on my bumper is all cracked and messed up, I can't really make them pay to fix the whole bumper when they just messed up an already screwed up bumper. anywho... this is really starting to piss me off.. i want to DRIVE my car, preferably not just to and from repair shops.

I learned a long time ago to stay away from those automatic car washes. They are nice in a time pinch for a quick wash but not worth the risk as you, sadly, have learned. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

I always fold my mirrors in before entering. Well I always do it NOW anyway. I went thru a car wash and it folded my mirror out. (Flipped it toward the front of the car) I opened the door to try to put it back but the car wash mechanism was too fast and I had to leave it. No damage but that was a very anxious few moments for me. I think the car was scared as well.

I used to have a problem with someone folding in my mirrors every day while my car was parked out in front of the building. It wouldnt have bothered me all that much, but I have the motorized folding mirrors, and I dont think they're made to be folded in manually. They make a really bad plasticy cracking sound when you do. Stupid college kids.

I have seen a car wash in VT. It's called the Village Car Wash. Nothing but high speed water jets touch the car and it does a good job as well as the under carrage. You just rive into the wash and park. Than a computer figures out the size of your car and moves the wash jets around the outside. After that high pressure air comes on to dry the car. You can all the other options also, wax etc.....
