it is running great... If I could keep traction I would be even more pleased Now I am woking on routing the belt better with the alt where it is. I need a diff belt that what I bought today to get better wrap. I think a 54" is too short. I want to get a 55" for full wrap on it.

Tom I like the way this looks I will do mine the same, as mine won't be the daily drive I think doing away with the AC is a great plan.

Would it possible to relocate the p/s pump down and use that spot for the alternator? A remote reservoir adapted to it wouldn't be too difficult.

To be honest... The fabrication required to fit the alt on the pass side... keep the A/c where it is and converting to an electric PS pump is not worth the effort IMHO. I had hard enough time mounting the alt where it is... it would be a nightmare to mount on a completely custom bracket

In the top right photo;
- The wire at the far side is for the fluid pre-heater, to warm the fluid on cold mornings.
- The blue wire and black cylinder at the right side is the temperature sender, to allow the controller to activate the pre-heater if needed.
- At the cap, the obvious one is a ground, power is supplied to the two black caps on the cap end.

The "controller" is a stand alone device for the power steering pump? Is it fair to assume the pump works fine without the heater and temp sender hooked up?

Can you take a picture of one installed in an xt6? I'd be curious to see their mounting.

The controller is a seperate box to the side, and then there is a seperate computer.

Basically the pump will provide "Full Power Steering" if you add 12v to the connectors on the cap.

The temp sender and pre-heater are not necessary but steering would be stiff till the fluid warms up.

The computer to control the speed of the pump takes input from the ECU, motion indicator on the steering wheel, temp sender, speed sensor... maybe more. I've heard that jeepers use them on their off road rigs, not sure if they just supply 12v or if the rig up some sort of controller.

I believe our pressure control circuit is on our racks; I don't think we would need to control the output of the pump if we were to use it.

Other than the constant power drain...
