!@#$ Valve Stems

I got my new rims installed today...which lasted about 0.2 miles

The new rims have the valve stem on the inside rather than the outside. As the wheels were rotating, the caliper hit the stem, causing it to seperate. Luckily the other one was still intact, so I duct taped it to the side and limped home with the spare.

Has anyone had something similar with aftermarket rims?
Do they make extrashort/curved valve stems?
Does anyone want to buy a set of 16" rims that can't be used on an SVX?

I worked with that design of rim before installing them on a VW, i ended up using extremely short valve stems, but they still barley cleared, .3 inch clearecn around the caliper. You could take it down to a tire store, and have them try with some of the really short valve stems, but since the SVX has considerbely larger barakes than the VW, them on they not work.

We tried it with the short valve stems...still didn't clear The flush mount ones would have possibly worked, but then I would have needed to wait for them to ship, and I couldn't drive around on the donut for a week. Plus it would have been nearly impossible to put air in, so I just had the stock ones remounted.

...so anyone wanna buy a set of 16x7 rims that won't work well on an SVX?
