need a new stock radiator fan

It seems like the only way to get a stock fan that does not use zip ties through the core is to get a $279 dealer replacement. Is that true? Any suggestions?

Re: need a new stock radiator fan

You could always try and get the AMR fan shroud. It comes with the two fans and the metal shroud

I don't see any shrouds or fans on their web site. The web site only lists WRX.

Re: need a new stock radiator fan

Sorry,
I do see SVX radiator for $635.
Do pancake motors use brushes? That my old motor could be rebuilt?

Re: need a new stock radiator fan

I see that my fan hub has cracks, the fan shroud is broken across the bottom, and the the motor squeals. This is equivalent to $347 in new parts. If I get a new after market fan, what should the CFM be and how would I hook up 4 wires at each fan. This is to replace the 5 blader not the 4. I assume the extra wires are for some multiple speed scheme.
280000 miles on the car now, but I am slowing down.

Re: need a new stock radiator fan

The 93-97 Nissan Altima fans are cheap enough that I bought a new pair installed on their bracket. The motor is almost the same, the mounting screw circle is a tad larger than the SVX requiring slotting the bracket holes by only 1/16 inch. The fan hub has a offset that is going the wrong way for an SVX. To compensate, mount the motor to the backside of the SVX bracket instead of the front. There is still enough clearance to the SVX engine pulleys. The electrical connectors are the same as SVX.

Re: need a new stock radiator fan

There is a thread on here somewhere which was started a while back and was to list alternate parts which fit the SVX. Would be good to add this, but damned if I can find that thread.

Re: need a new stock radiator fan

I know they sold two of them on the FB page to people. Ask Jamie about it.
