Sockets for Marker Lights
Hi. Need 2 (or 4) sockets for marker lights at rear of vehicle on both sides. Mine are completely corroded. Thanks.

Re: Sockets for Marker Lights
I was able to order sockets recently for much of the tail lights section. There were not particularly pricey (new from Subaru)... something like $6 - $10 depending on which one. I'd suggest trying to get OEM ones if you can.
Cheers, Ian. |

Re: Sockets for Marker Lights
Hey,
when you said your lights are corroded, you mean the metal in the bulb holder? If so, then you could potentially buy a different bulb assembly that takes the same size bulbs, and swap out the electrical bits of the new assembly, on to the old assembly, then spice the new wires into the existing harness. Possibly you could buy something like: https://store.ijdmtoy.com/products/w...20102754566247 (I believe it's type 168 bulbs in the side markers, but I've not changed those before.) Just figure out how to release the metal bits without damaging them of the holder. I did this once years ago, then I accidentally ordered the wrong part, and was too impatient to send it back and wait for the right part. This was also a corroded bulb holder. I removed the old parts, install the new (after removing them from the incorrectly ordered new holder) part. I was able to pop out the pins in the connectors without damaging them, putting the new wires into the original connector. Otherwise you could cut and splice the new wires into the old harness. Good luck! Ian. |
