DAKAR Rally starts 1/1/2012

For those loving off-road racing the DAKAR, 16 days of racing over torturous terrain begins tomorrow, with Robby Gordon and navigator Johnny Campbell in the #303 (sponsored by Robby's Speed Energy drink and Toyo tires) Hummer H3 and last years winner Nasser Al Attiyah in the #300 sponsored by Qatar & Toyo, in Robby's second Hummer. This should prove to be an interesting race with the exit of VW and emergence of the new Mini as a force to be reckoned with, along with the BMW Team's X3s. http://www.planetrobby.com/group/pla...ecentral/forum
A podium finish by an American team would be a monumental first. Sparse TV coverage in the States, but lots of updates and video available on various sites.
