Question: What would you do?

Here is the situation. You park your car outside. The next morning you go to your car. You see someone with a hammer and a screwdriver. They place the screwdriver on your hood and lightly tap the end with the hammer. It isn't a gigantic hole, but merely a tiny dent in your car.

What do you do?

Call the police and gather witnesses.

Look, some people are going to respond, 'I'd beat the guy to within an inch of his life,' but that proves absolutely nothing and doesn't provide any justification for the way you responded to your own situation.

Also, your hypothetical situation above doesn't compare to your actual experience yesterday. In the above fiction, you assume total malice on the offending party. In reality, you have very little actual proof that the real person who damaged your car was at all malicious.

Go stop the guy, then call the cops. If there is anyone near by that saw what he did you are alot better off also. Fill out the police report and make sure the guy pays for the damage he has done.....

Take my gun out of my car. Point the gun at him. Call 911 on my cell phone. Take the zip ties and tie the guy. Hand him over to the police.

Lwin

ps. you DO NOT touch the guy at all.

It's probably the guy whose pick-up truck you vandalized.

I don't think taking the wipers is vandalizing it.

Pointing a gun at somebody, whether you touch them or not, is assault.

If you want to get technical, it depends if that person is threatening you. :P

I realize this is a hypothetical situation, and I understand the corelation between this post and your previous post Cash, but here is my response:

You call the police and have them take care of it.

Do you know how many whackos are out there (and cash you may be one of them)? If some dude is messing with your car, don't even go near him (OR HIS CAR). Just call the police. It could save you A LOT of legal trouble, and possibly your life. What if this guy witnesses you messing with his car and comes after you right then and there? Who is to say that this guy wouldn't have a gun on him??? Who is to say that this guy wouldn't try to stab you with his hypothetical screw driver??? And if you go after him or his car, you could wind up in jail for battering HIM/Vandalizing his vehicle and he has EVERY right to take you to court over damages, just like you would have every right to take him to court. This thing would go on for MONTHS.

Cash, to me it seems like you probably make life a lot more difficult for yourself than it has to be. I wish you well in the future, but please think more. You're a very young guy and the future will hold many many many more injustices for you. That's life. The one's who thrive are the ones who learn how to deal with them properly.

The obvious answer is that you immediately locate a weapon and execute the person, several times over if possible. Doesn't every civilization consider damaging another's property (regardless of whether it's an accident or an act of malice) to be a capital offense, with summary execution as the only reasonable penalty?

Then, you look in the person's wallet, find his or her address, and go to their home and execute their entire family. This includes previous generations, the current generation, and any future generations if you can track them down, plus their pets and any livestock. Then you burn their house and sow salt in their fields to make them barren for generations to come. If you'd like to see this in action, watch the movie Gladiator.

All this will, of course, immediately heal the dent in your car and make it like new. It will also serve as a deterrent to any others who might have thought about doing the same thing.

Ca$h, when I read some of your posts, I understand why tigers eat their young.
