Re: Stripping off old paint

Well, I sold my AT Italia rims and now I need to decide if I want the gold SVX rims on in the summer or the OEM silver rims on in the summer. If I want the gold on in the summer, I need to put my winter tires on the silver rims so I can ship the de-tired AT Italia rims. If I want the silver on in the summer, I have to tell the buyer he needs to wait until my gold rims are done so I can put the winter tires on the gold rims.

It really comes down to which rims I want to see the salt. If I put the gold rims on in the winter, they will degrade and I may not be able to sell them at a top price if I decide after a season that I don't like them. If I put the silver rims on in the winter, they will degrade and that might make selling the whole car harder later on if the potential buyer wants the OEM silver.

Yes, how much will you give me for it?

Seriously though, I am not planning on selling it yet. But I probably will some day so I am thinking ahead. Mybe it doesn't matter and I should ride with whatever rims I want to ride and let the chips fall where they may.

Re: Stripping off old paint

For thoe who didn't see the pictures in the other thread, I got the OEM rims with the gold powdercoat mounted on the car with the Blizzak tires. These are rims from "Let It Snow". I'm not sure if I like them. I figure I will give them a season to see if they grow on me. If they don't, I will be offering them up for sale. So, if you like them, let me know and I will keep a list of names to contact in the order I recieve them.

Yes, I know they are backwards. But the tires are directional and the tire guy obviously didn't look at the rims he took off before he mounted the tires on these rims. At least he noticed that there were left and right rims and didn't mix them! I can live with them being backwards for now.
