Squire's Turbo System
http://www.ststurbo.com/products
Sorry if this has been mentioned before, I know I've seen it in a number of places but I don't remember if this was on of them. It usually gets the same response about turbo lag and what not, but I'm thinking this might be worth trying on an SVX. I was watching some show the other day where four shops customized a Chevy HHR and one used this system to put in a rear turbo and it got me interested. I think it's just good in that they are ultimately pretty cheap, you don't have to buy intercoolers or custom fabricate a manifold or pay 500-1000 bucks for one, and in a bay like ours where space in an issue this could be great. |

I think I'll end up being the stage2 / infiniti MAF / rear turbo guinea pig as soon as my house sells.
If all else fails, I can simply move the turbo forward. -Patrick

Sorry for the repost =(
I'm seriously considering this also, as it will be much cheaper than any other project I'm currently thinking about attempting lol.... The only deal breaker for me is I have a motor with 130,000 miles and the stock tranny with probably just as many on it and I'm not sure they're gunna like it all that much. |

How are you gonna control your fuel?
You're gonna need more control than the stock computer can handle most likely. Maybe a megasquirt II ? As well as upgrading to larger injectors. You'll max out the oem ones. Turbos are a gr8 idea, but not for the svx. You can't teach a pig to fly! Not an svx but a remote turbo install http://www.dakotausa.com/vBulletin/s...ad.php?t=25826

Turbocharging the SVX has been exhaustively researched and tested, many people run turbo'ed SVXii daily. several people on the board are running standalone setups, nismo 720cc injectors are plug and play. fuel pump, injectors, a stand alone setup and a turbo. All you really need to get going. Give me 5k, and I'll give you a mildly boosted SVX.

Think the ECUtune 2v7 would work for a turbo? I don't know what other kind of management you can get for these.

My firiend Peter, who financed the STS company, and who uses STS turbos on a couple of his racecars told me that the thing he liked least about the system was that changes in weather were constantly requiring a different tune. He said his crew had to keep modifiying his M3's computer to get it to run right in climates that it was not originally set up in.
If the weather changes much where you are, and you drive your car frequently, I would stay away from an STS turbo. That's just what I hear anyway, but I don't take his experience lightly, that's for sure.

Seems a lil weird that you'd need to retune efi for different weather as I don't need to do it n/a. But race cars are supposed to be tuned for each track right
AFR should still be pretty much the same whether boosted or n/a. There are guys running blow thru carbs that don't need to retune much at all. Tell me a carb isn't tuffer to tune, even w/ wideband o2 sensor, after using a computer to see and adjust all your parameters.
