There are ways to clean/fix your MAF in the How-To documents, I think. Otherwise, you can clean it by dipping the sensor in the center of the MAF in vinegar. Also you can remove the top rubber peice and try to resolder the contact points. If its dead, then you have nothing to lose trying.

If you feel your's is beyond that, contact Dayle over at Motorsports Warehouse. I think he has some good used ones.

could I just dip the whole thing in vinegar? or just the sensor itself?

No, you don't want to submerge the whole thing, just the sensor itself. See Dayle's thread & pics concerning cleaning the MAF sensor: thread 27014.
I have done it and it was a really simple process.
