yup, separator plate. you need to pull the engine to fix it though. while your there, buy a rear main seal and make sure you only tap it in flush like the old one was. i doubt its leaking, (rear main) but for the $15 or so it is, your already there to do it. if the oil is near the sides of the pan, could be the valve covers like said in the last posts

I think I'll just drop the trany and do it from the back. It will be only the 4th time in two months

svxpert, as far as I know the 92's were mostly equipt with the metal seperator plate while the new models hah teh ghetto plastic

well I got the trany out tonight and replaced the rear main seal. It looks like it was leaking a little, but removed the plastic seperator plate and there was some small cracks forming around the screews. the botom edge was all oily so I thin it was leaking.

I called a dealer today to get a new seperator plate and screews. They told me it was now a kit with the screews and that its now metel
I should have it tonight!

they were metal in 92.... Dunno who thought it was a good idea to screw that up with plastic Good to know it will be fixed soon... Just one thing after another for you huh??

OK, So I picked up the parts. There are three parts to make the new metal separator plate work.

11831AA210 Cover oil x 1 ( separator plate)
800406150 Bolt sock x 1 (used in the hole with the arrow)
800406140 Bolt sock x 5

The new bolts are Allen headed so no more stripping out the screws

you know to use ultra black sealant to seal that up right?? Rather not just have ya put it in there without doing that
