Well, it runs and drives. But it likes to stall out on me. It usually happens after about 10min of running. It takes a couple of starts to keep it running and then will be ok. I need to replace the fuel filter, change the oil and filter and the air filter. I'm probably looking at doing the timing belt also. I need to check out the on-line manual, I dont even know if it has one or two belts(DOHC)
Also, when I put the new tail shaft housing on, I forgot to install the new speed senosr I grabbed at the yard. The old one had the attachment piece broken off and theres no way to keep it tight on the housing. So it leaks bad enough to smoke out my cabin and leave a cloud behind me So I get to crawl under the car again and remove a bunch of stuff so I can access it to replace it. I'm getting to know the underside quite well now

Rob, the timing belt (one) is so much easier than belts on an EA/ER. With the covers off, I could swap a belt in a few minutes.

A common stalling issue is due to the MAF, but it could be other things. Check for codes, even if it's not showing a CEL.

Hey Rob,
welcome to the Dark side

The EG33 is a DOHC, but it only has 2 cam belt pulleys, one on each side, the intake cams are gear driven off the exhausht cams, which have the pulley on them.

And yep, just one belt, super easy to time....you'll hate doing a EA/ER after you do the EG

Any questions, don't hesitate to ask....

Now thats good news. Which makes my week considering I'm also dealing with a engine pull on a friends 91 Galant right now
Had to silicone the speed sensor back onto the case unfortunalty because I found out the Leg sensor is a 3 wire, not 2.
So I'll give my dealer a call on Mon to see if they are still available, along with the ign/key switch.

Thanks

I cleaned the MAF and no more stalling issues. BUT, I took it for a spin this morning after my attempt at sealing the speed sensor. Didnt work
Had a pretty good smoke screen going once I got over 40mph.
Hopefully the dealer will have one or be able to order it. Otherwise I will be posting in the Wanted Forum for one. I wonder if the 4EAT on a XT6 is a 2 wire sensor?
