Talking Huzzah! U-Pull R-Parts is a goldmine

Well, at least the one by me is. They got a 96 SVX in, and I had a bit of a pilfering. It's been there for a few weeks, so a fair bit has already been taken. But what was left was in pretty darn good shape.

I'll toss up a picture of the haul when I get it unloaded. But here's a partial list of what I was able to snag. Total price... $115 Everything appears to be in good condition, but there's no way to know for sure until it gets tested.

-Both front struts with springs.
-Alternator
-Brake Master Cylinder
-drivers seat belt assy. (non-motorized)
-overhead console
-sunroof motor
-front sway bar
-radiator
-both hood-struts, in great condition
-both trunk-struts in great condition
-lots of little clips for various bits, especially weather stripping
-Pass. Side door lock actuator
-Rear drivers side window switch
-center console cover with door "Lock/Unlock" switch

And I think there were some other odds and ends.

Even if it all doesn't work. Still all cheaper than the hood struts and trunk struts new.

I'm very tempted to go back and pull the whole engine. Only $150.

Hey if you can... pull the entire wiring harness from the whole car that involves anything engine or ECU/TCU related. I am gonna need an OBDII harness and ECU when the wagon goes to 6 cylinders

Here's the picture of todays score. I could have gotten more, but it was muddy out there, and I got kinda lazy

And to Tom,

I wouldn't have the foggiest clue how to go about pulling the entire wiring harness. If I decide to go and get the engine, I'd be willing to give it a shot for you though.

Tom

I've got a few other things I'd like to snag, so I'll see if it works out. It kinda all depends on if I get out of work early at all this week.

Also....how does one pull the dash out on this beast?

gotta get all the bolts... They are scattered about so get as many as you can find... Then try to pull it out and find out where the rest are by finding where it is still caught

Was it crashed? If not, that just disgusts me. I hate it when people part out or junk solid SVXs. It makes me sad. Soon there won't be many around at all.

It looked as if it had been in a front end collision, on the passenger side.

Not a major one, but I am willing to bet that the insurance company had it totaled.

Arrow Photos?

Can you take some photos, specifically the front end collision. I bought my 96 with a salvaged title at the time, and it was hit hard in the right front, frame rail, radiatior support, bumper all replaced from a 92 tealy, and my 96 is red. I had no choice but to spray paint all the green parts black. If I had fixed it, it would have been done the right way.

I go back and forth about them. But since it's a thought, I figured why not snag them while I can.

I just got home from work. Had the earliest day since I started. So I'm about to head back down there and see what I can snag. I'll give that harness a shot Tom, and see what other things I can pilfer.

I got the steering wheel today, both airbags, the main harness, ECU, and another smaller computer that was right behind the ECU (I'm guessing the TCU??)

The harness took over 3 hours to get out. What a royal PITA. Might I recommend that people avoid that particular project.

Tom, I'll shoot you a PM.

Here's a pic of the harness.
