Paint type used on '92 SVX's?

It occurs to me to wonder if Subaru used acrylic lacquer, or acrylic enamel on the '92 SVX.

The reason I ask is to determine whether cheap (lacquer) touch-up paint will blend with the factory paint. (I haven't seen enamel-based touch-up paint in the parts stores, unfortunately..)

Thanks,
--jim

Don't even wonder about it. Just go to the dealer and get the touch up paint from them. It'll be less than ten bucks and match up perfectly.

Also, www.paintscratch.com I ordered some paint from there. Perfect match.

Yes.. I didn't mention that I'm wanting to repair and blend some door dings. Takes spray paint. It can be done quite nicely -if- the paint chemistry is compatible with the original.

I highly recommend the use of the base/clear process available at www.paintscratch.com if that is the case. My stuff came out great.

Send a message to

double0bondo. He owns a bodyshop and should be able to help. I also think Doug (mohrds) can help with your paint questions.
