I did my trans cooler install this afternoon...
...and it went smoothly without a hitch. Followed the advice that Svxfiles gave me a few weeks back - I took my time and removed both fans, the under tray and undid the four bolts that hold the radiator to the frame (Soobiesvx93 also mentioned removing these bolts).
I then spent a good 1/2 hour cleaning off leaves, feathers and other debris that had collected on the a/c condenser and radiator. I then inspected my lines that went in and out of the factory trans cooler. The inlet hose had a few cracks directly behind the radiator clamp, so I trimmed the hose and re-attached it. I fastened the aftermarket trans cooler to the center of the radiator and used the foam backing the manufacturer provided as a buffer between the cooler and radiator (Immortal Suby's suggestion). The factory outlet hose that runs from the trans cooler back to the trans, was too short to reach the aftermarket cooler, so I removed it as a whole and cut the hose provided with the aftermarket cooler in half. I had more than enough to run one piece from the outlet of the radiator trans cooler to the aftermarket cooler, and the other piece from the aftermarket trans cooler to the metal return line to the transmission. All in all, it was an easy install that should take around 1-1.5 hours (pacing yourself). My 16,000lb GVW Champ cooler is now installed! -Chike P.S. On an even better note, my uncle will let me do my 4.44 trans swap on his lift, so my car will be back and better than ever in about 2 weeks!

The trans cooler works great!
I don't have a tranny temp gauge, but after installing the trans cooler on my car two weekends ago, on a couple occasions after driving for 30-40 minutes on 70*-80* days I've felt the two hoses on the side of my radiator by hand:
-The upper hose leads from the factory radiator mounted cooler to my Champ 16,000lb GVW cooler... -The lower hose leads from the Champ cooler to the return line back to the trans... The upper hose is noticeably hot (~160-170*+) to the touch, while the return hose is much, much cooler! Pretty amazing results for such a cheap upgrade! -Chike
