Hub Tamer pieces?

Which parts of the OTC set are needed?

How does this one from Harbor Freight seem?

Matt,

I used a Hub Tamer on the rear bearings and the Harbor Freight tool appears to have all I used, but then I really had no idea what I was doing & just fumbled through. For example, I found no use for the big "C" shaped thing in the OTC product, and since there were no instructions in the one I used I can't say if it would be needed for front bearings or other kind of car, etc.

Significant Technical Input
The "big c" thing is used to press the hub out of the bearings.

Like I said, I fumbled through it. I somehow managed to set up a combination of the metal sleeves that fit & worked using the long bolt to draw/push.

The really bad part - now that Beav points out the real purpose - was I asked the base auto skills center "advisory" mechanic what the "C" thing was for and he was clueless. Kinda makes me cautious about getting future advice from him.

I agree, the big C thing is a bit of a pain to use and doesn't like to sit squarly. Using a slidehammer that can be rented from Autozone could be used to pull the hub out. The tool looks similar to http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...temnumber=5223
