Separating lens from headlight assembly

I have a thought. When you have the lights on, the air inside the housing expands and it vents. What if when the light cools, it sucks in oily air from a leaky engine or bad environment?

People who have their headlights on all the time have this happen more than people who only use them at night? Even more, people who use the fogs as well get the air hotter, therefore sucking in more outside air when they cool?

Sound possible?
