fuel filters
how often does the fuel filter have to be changed? i was told every 1500 miles. i think that is a bit often, if that is true is there a replacement filter that doent have to be changed as often or mabe a inline prefilter to replace the 25 dollar a peice stock one

Most people I know who like their cars do it annually. I think even that is a little often, and it obviously depends on how many miles you do.

My Taurus went 7 years and ~115K miles on one fuel filter, but most should be changed earlier.

25,000 would be a good number, but I don't know many who do it that often.
