Earth Cord?
Upon inspecting my muffler the other day while SVeckie was up on the lift, I noticed this (#4)
was frayed in half. It is listed as "Cord (radio earth)". Is it some sort of ground for the AM/FM radio antenna, or does it serve some other function? Its only an $5.26 part, and I assume replace it if it has some other function besides that (i didnt connect my radio when I installed my stereo, as I hate my local stations). Any ideas oh wise and benevolent subagurus?

I would say that it has been labeled as "radio", because a prime function is to positively ground the muffler and exhaust to stop possible radio interference, which could otherwise occur.
HT/spark induced noise etc. can be a problem and the exhaust, if not grounded, could carry and transmit "static" to the rear. Not quite a scientific explanation but good enough within time and space considerations. Not vital but worth replacing.
