Sometimes links to my locker don't work though so you may have to get there another way.

I love your proposed setup, Chris, with the exception of 2 things:

1) I would avoid the Abit board. I've owned a couple and they were nothing but headaches. I also know a few others who have had nothing but bad experiences with them. They burn out prematurely. Personally I would go with an Asus or a Soyo mobo.

2) The Seagate hdd. I'd go with the WD 120gb w/8mb cache or even the Maxtor (3 year warranty) with the 8mb cache. Seagate makes great SCSI drives but I've never liked their IDE. Hard drive brands are pretty much subjective and everyone has their bias to a particular brand. You are probably safe with the Seagate and I imagine it has the 8mb buffer. Drives with them are rocket fast!

One of my best friends just bought a p4 2.4ghz w 800mhz fsb and 512mb pc3400 memory. He also bought an Antec "LAN-Boy" case. Very sweet! Only 11lbs! His box is gonna fly and so is yours! I wish I was building one like yours right now. Be fore you purchase the components check out gear.com. Their prices for his components was a little less than what you are quoting and they have free 2nd-day FedEx shipping.

For a video card on a budget the ATI 9500 is a great choice.

I think the setup looks pretty good.
My last home computer MB was an Abit and it was fast and reliable.

Seagate hard drives are excellent, you should not have a problem there.
Make sure you stay away from IBM drives, I have had a whole bunch of them go bad on me.

Right now it is pretty much a toss up between ATI and nVidia cards.

Good job picking the supply. Most pre-built computers come with cheapo supplies and they cause a lot of problems.
A bad PS will cause numerous headaches that may look like more serious problems.

Looks all good to me.
