i miss my svx
i miss my svx
its been almost a month since its at the the shop getting the 5spd swap... although i got a mr2 to use in the meanwhile, and although i do enjoy the rear wheel drive w/o power steering and all, i miss my svx.... i just hope that the next time i see it, it'll be a 5spd svx ready for some upgrades hehe (my apt looks likt autozone now, with all the mr2/svx parts i've been gettin...)

You miss yours and I wish I had one...
How much did you pay for the 5 speed swap? Good luck with it...It makes me think of an operation. |

i hope you find one soon...
although i hope you don't have to go through the tranny thing as soon as i did.... i really don't know how much the whole swap is going to cost me... yet... i'll find out when i pick it up... but i'll let the board know as soon as i get to pick it up (i'm hoping next weekend... i know i've been saying this for the past like 3 weeks, but the shop told me that they're only waiting for the clutch now... once the clutch is there.... i should be done) i hope the drive back from chicago, with the manual working the h6, will be superbly amazing....

If that's what you really want just purchase a low mileage SVX with a burnt up tranny from Ebay, then get it converted. Cheaper that way.

Wow, that's a really good idea!

Not if you have the money
Why spend 4k on a manual tranny - if you can't spend 6K to get a car with low miles.

Umm that didn't sound right did it
I just meant for me right now - the SVX did two things.
Put me in a nice LOOKING car and was cost effective (I hope). Personally I don't have the funds to do a tranny swap and estimate that a six speed swap with exhaust or turbo or something will cost me 6k. Geez I don't have the funds to go to a dealer for a windshield So thats what I meant - no offense to anyone |

good answer
Yes I suppose it is worth it - if you have a low milage very good condition car -- it is definitely cheeper then buying a porsche but - isn't the STi coming out at around 30- with prolly zero percent financing ?
Thats 300 ponies right there |

I wouldn't expect the STI to be 0 percent financing. And I wouldn't expect to get an STI for much under 35k, but that is my guess. Personaly if I had 35k to spend on a car Id send MY SVX to COBB and tell them to have a real good time doing the things they do to Subies. Then when I got it back I'd paint it the same yellow as the new Lambo. And Id be 10x happier than I would be in the STI, no offence to the STI cause I would love to have one.
OH and by the way...I still miss my car. |
